    Purpose of the Role

    • Reporting directly to the Site Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the most effective use of engineering resources, ensuring compliance to Health & Safety and Food Safety legislation. Working predominantly within the packaging department (canning, bottling and kegging).
    • To implement the site strategy that will ensure the Engineering function is effective, low cost, well motivated, flexible and continually adapts to changing circumstances.

    About the role

    • Working cross functionally to ensure that the engineering function works within an integrated manufacturing team, to ensure maximum availability of assets.
    • Positively influence the change management process, driving engineering culture towards world class performance.
    • To monitor progress of plant performance and implement downtime reduction activities.
    • Continually develop and ensure that the planned maintenance procedures are correctly adhered to and completion targets are attained.
    • Ensure all engineering work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner, in accordance with best manufacturing practice, health and safety legislation and company standards. 
    • To track Engineering KPI’s and develop action plans to attain targets.
    •  Ensure departmental compliance to Health & Safety legislation.
    • Maintain an environment and culture of safe working practices which are understood and maintained within the engineering function
    • Implement working patterns and organisational structures to support the long term needs of the people.
    • Ensure the use of performance management systems to drive maximum productivity from assets and people
    • To provide appropriate assistance to the operational function in relation to all aspects of shared maintenance.
    • Liaise with HR as part of the recruitment and selection process for the craft team and apprentices.
    • Application of site standards and rules within the Discipline, Grievance and Absence procedures. 

    About you

    • Demonstrable track record with at least 3-5 years experience of managing teams to targets/KPIs within a manufacturing environment.
    • Proven ability to lead and deliver high-level performance through excellent people management in an operational shift environment.
    • Experience of working with new technologies to continuously-improve performance
