    The role is based in our modern office in Bristol. Overview: Support assistant financial accountants in challenging financial information and driving improved control’s structure and to assist in their own development.

    About the role

    • Lead in production/review of monthly management accounts and associated requirements for submission to internal stakeholders including monthly P&L review call with wider team
    • Review of various month end P&L accounts to identify and correct errors in a timely manner
    • Support key deliverables for submission to Group for monthly results, half year & quarterly forecasts in line with C&C requirements
    • Lead Intercompany matching process, managing and resolving variances with C&C counterparties as needed
    • Collaboration with cost centre owners, particularly in consideration to the management accounts pack
    • Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are completed and reviewed, resolving any issues in a timely manner
    • Support the audit relationship with EY
    • Supporting the wider finance team with technical accounting advice
    • Drive continuous improvement in MCB financial processes to ensure compliance and control whilst maximising commercial benefit to the MCB business
    • Oversight of the quarterly VAT submissions and annual PSA return
    • Collate and review payroll data and complete monthly payroll KPIs
    • Liaising with AP to understanding GRNI releases and ensure correct postings are made
    • Support the Finance Manager and the wider finance leadership team in any other work throughout the year

    About you

    • Financial accounting and reporting: Experienced – Strong understanding of financial reporting frameworks and regulatory environment, and related developments.
    • Business partner: Evolving – uses financial knowledge and knowledge of business to contribute to the decision-making process.
    • Business analysis: Evolving - has good knowledge of analysis techniques and is able to use them correctly.
    • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
    • Familiarity with an ERP system. JDE experience is desirable.
    • Line management experience
    • Strong excel skills
    • Demonstrable financial and management accounting experience
