    This position will be predominantly working from home, however we are looking for someone who is based in the South West of England.

    Role Overview

    You will be responsible for driving premium and prestige wines and spirits sales into the off-trade specialists retail channel.  Your primary objective is to achieve profit, volume, and distribution targets in your specific area of the country.  You will also have the opportunity to lead in one of several areas of additional responsibility e.g. Online wine retailers. You will be forward-looking always striving to improve customer service whilst improving the efficiency of our sales callage. You will understand the commercial aspects of wine and how to drive the bottom line for C&C and our customers.

    Key accountabilities

    • Be the off-trade specialist wine advisor for your territory.
    • Achieve profit, volume, and distribution targets through effective planning, customer selling techniques and customer relationship building.
    • Maximise sales efficiencies via new and developing sales channels (e.g. on-line) and customer communication tools.
    • Maximise the efficiency of the supply chain & distribution network (driving the benefit of the forthcoming developments)
    • Work as part of the wider W&W sales team to collaborate and share learnings to maximise performance.
    • Work with Channel Controller to find the right level of ‘farming’ existing customers in the most effective and efficient way – whilst creating space for ‘hunting’ new customers using technology to facilitate this.
    • Monitor and respond to competitor activity, providing support and initiatives to counter competitor actions.
    • Collect customer feedback and feed back into the business on an ongoing basis.

    About you

    • Understanding of the dynamics, trends, and competitive landscape within the independent, specialist drinks merchant sector.
    • Strong understanding of the economics of wine – how C&C and our customers generate profitable sales.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of sales strategy development, implementation, and performance monitoring
    • Ability to analyse market data and competitor activities to create winning sales plans
    • In-depth understanding of premium wine.
    •  Experience in reviewing sales reports and implementing corrective actions.
    • Proven track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance & supply chain.
    • Strong ability to collaborate across the W&W team and across C&C
    • Excellent communication skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
    • Advanced certification from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), demonstrating a high level of wine knowledge and expertise.
