    About the role:

    In this role, you'll be responsible for developing the EHS Management system in line with OHSAS 18001 (ISO 45001) and ISO 14001 standards. You'll report to management on the performance of these systems and identify areas for improvement. Supporting the delivery of the EHS strategy, you'll work to achieve continuous improvement in EHS performance across the site.

    You'll provide assurance to the EHS Manager through monitoring and interventions, ensuring that operations meet EHS legislative obligations. Additionally, you'll support the development of the company culture and oversee EHS performance across departments, collaborating with senior management as needed. Offering competent advice on EHS matters to staff will be a key part of your role, ensuring the site remains fully compliant with legal EHS requirements.

    You'll develop and implement EHS initiatives, continually improving and setting EHS targets, objectives, and KPIs with the EHS Manager. You'll also be responsible for approving, monitoring, and reviewing all subcontractor work, writing risk assessments and standard operating procedures, and conducting site audits and inspections, including external audits for ISO 45001 and 14001.

    Assisting with occupational health issues and providing internal training, such as inductions and toolbox talks, are part of your duties. You'll ensure records of incidents are maintained, investigate root causes, and implement controls to prevent recurrence. Monitoring working hours to comply with legislation and internal policy, driving continuous improvement, and promoting best practices are essential.

    You'll develop and update site EHS policies, procedures, and safe work systems, assist in the analytical data review of the Waste Water Treatment Plant performance, and provide advice and support for planning and delivering health and safety training.

    About you

    To excel in this role, you'll need a degree in Environmental Health & Safety or a related field. Your excellent attention to detail and methodical approach to tasks will be crucial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is a must, along with top-notch communication, presentation, reporting, and interpersonal skills.

    Strong time management skills are essential, as is the ability to handle challenges systematically. You'll need robust analytical, problem-solving, failure diagnostics, decision-making, and organizational abilities. Experience managing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is highly preferred.
