About the Role

Within the Indirect Procurement team, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, driven and professional individual to fill the position of Category Manager looking after Logistics and Fleet for the group. This position offers the opportunity to develop and execute a strategic plan that maximises the deliverable savings from key business areas.

As Category Manager you will work closely with key business stakeholders to ensure you understand their business objectives and priorities, and include them in your overall plan. You’ll use your commercial savvy and market knowledge of the FMCG sector to deliver an efficient and effective sourcing approach, providing market insight and analysis, and running competitive and professional tender processes.

You’ll bring your negotiating skills to bear to ensure C&C Group and our subsidiaries get best value for their considerable spend and come up with creative solutions to deliver optimal solutions.

Key Accountabilities 

• Drive strategy development and implementation for key spend categories
• Initiate and execute procurement and strategic sourcing projects to drive value and deliver cost savings.
• Ongoing supplier development to maximize value post contract award.
• In depth analysis of the supply market, the identification and delivery of savings targets, the use of appropriate sourcing tools and processes, risk identification and mitigation strategies.
• Nurturing and developing the relationships of key stakeholders, as well as build/ establish strategic relationships with key suppliers.
• Leveraging group scalability and identifying synergies to be executed and sustained.
• Providing regular cost/market analysis
• Reporting and Budgeting.
• Align Ethical & Sustainable Procurement standards with our Group ESG strategy

About you 

Are you an experienced logistics procurement professional with a background in both national and international freight? We're looking for someone like you to join our team. While experience in the manufacturing/drinks industry would be advantageous, it's not essential. What matters most is your proven ability to manage categories strategically on a global scale.

We need someone who can lead negotiations across technical, commercial, and legal areas, ensuring contracts are robust and favourable for us. Your talent for driving strategic procurement initiatives, along with a track record of achieving cost savings, mitigating risks, consolidating suppliers, and cultivating strategic vendor relationships, is precisely what we're seeking.

You'll be a key business partner, driving change and embodying best practices in procurement. Your skill in navigating relationships with stakeholders at all levels, along with your ability to thrive under pressure and make decisive decisions, will make you a valuable addition to our team.
