  • The On Trade Sales Director in England and Wales is a key leadership position responsible for driving sales and fostering growth in the on-trade sector within the England and Wales Region. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong track record in sales management, capable of developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies to achieve significant organic revenue growth.

    About the role

    You will develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the on-trade sector, including bars, restaurants, hotels, and other hospitality establishments.  You will also translate sales strategies into actionable plans and initiatives.  Communication is vital as you will build and maintain strong relationships with key on-trade customers, distributors, and partners.

    Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty is an important part of this Leadership role.  You will develop and gain agreement to annual business plans for On Trade, ensuring alignment with strategy.  Also you will quantify business outcomes, detail expense and headcount budgets, and develop business cases for key projects.

    You will continuously assess and improve the plan-to-sell process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness ensuring you streamline prospecting, lead generation, and deal-closing activities.  Performance management is important as well as you will implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to track customer performance and compliance within CRM.

    People development is important as you will identify needs and facilitate the development of sales skills and product knowledge among sales colleagues.  You will also implement and embed sales tools, software, and technology solutions to enhance sales efficiency and productivity.

    You will drive revenue and profitability through market expansion, penetration strategies, and the development of pricing strategies and promotions.  Stakeholder management is key as you will need to build and maintain strong relationships with key on-trade customers, distributors, and partners.

    A strategic mindset is important as you will need to stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to make data-driven decisions.  You will develop and manage budgets for the region, allocating resources effectively to maximise sales and profitability.

    You will possess a deep understanding of the company's product portfolio to effectively communicate and promote products to customers.  You will also ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, especially when dealing with alcoholic beverages.  You will communicate the function's strategy and its relationship to the organisation's structure.

     

    About You

    You will be a developed people leader with a proven ability to structure, build, motivate, and inspire sales organisations.

    Strong commercial and financial acumen are important in this role as you will manage budgets.  You will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building relationships across customers and the internal organisation.

    You will have strong track record of sales management and execution in the FMCG Industry with proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
