  • About the Role

    Join our team at Matthew Clark Bibendum on a 15 month Fixed-Term Contract and take on a crucial role that involves accurately accounting, reporting, and consolidating results. As a key team member, your responsibilities will include conducting variance analysis and providing commentary for month-end reporting, as well as producing monthly consolidation accounts in adherence to IFRS rules and C&C timetables.

     

    Key Accountabilities

    Your key responsibilities will include submitting monthly results, half-year, and quarterly forecasts to the Group, ensuring alignment with C&C requirements.

    You will oversee the completion of all balance sheet reconciliations, collaborating with finance colleagues to resolve any issues.

    As the point person for the audit relationship with EY, you will produce year-end statutory accounts and commentary in accordance with C&C requirements.

    You'll provide technical accounting support to other teams and drive continuous improvement in financial processes to ensure compliance and control while maximising commercial benefits.

    Monitoring changes to IFRS and assessing their potential impact on MCB, along with serving as an authorised signatory for Accounts Payables BACS payments.

    Your role will also involve coaching and managing Financial Accountants on a day-to-day basis, supporting the Financial Controller and the wider team.

     

    About you

    In terms of knowledge and skills, you bring a wealth of experience to the table. You have a strong understanding of financial reporting frameworks and the regulatory environment.

    In terms of experience and qualifications, you are a qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) with demonstrable financial accounting and tax experience within a multi-entity organisation. Previous experience within an industry dealing with stock is desirable.
