We have an opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join us on a Permanent basis working onsite at our Tennent’s Wellpark Brewery.
Please note this role is working on a shift pattern basis to include morning, evenings and nights. Further information is available below.
About the role
As a member of the Quality Department you’ll undertake daily, weekly and monthly tasks to ensure we are meeting KPI requirements against cost, quality and service. This will include routine studies of Water Checks, SO2, Glycol, Colour PH, ABV level etc. You’ll calibrate and utilise instruments such as Alcolyser, Rapitec, Spectrophotometer and DMA, DO2/CO2/N2 meters to collect and process samples from Drips and Kegs. You’ll monitor the results and work with colleagues to resolve or escalate issues. You’ll participate in internal audits for Pack Quality, Process Audit Checks and HACCP audits.
Within the role you’ll perform routine housekeeping and assist with 5s, goods intake, parcel despatch and documentation. You’ll be an advocate for Food Safety and Quality Culture, complying at all time with regulations within HSE, Food Safety and Statutory/Legal requirements.
Please note this role is working a shift pattern comprised of a Night Shift, Back Shift, Early Shift and Day Shift. The rota is provided up to a year in advance. You will receive Shift Allowance in addition to your salary for the shifts worked as below:
About You
You’ll possess experience within a Laboratory environment from a food or drinks manufacturing business, and able to demonstrate experience of carrying out scientific checks of samples. Ideally you’ll possess a HNC or equivalent in a Science subject.
