    The Role

    You will be driving new business in large single sites and regional multiple operating groups, across the Central and South West region, with a specific focus on wine.

    As part of a well-respected sales team you will be a source of expert guidance and an ambassador for our wine portfolios with involvement in key tenders and the implementation of our wine and champagne strategies.

    You will identify and evaluate large business opportunities with a focus on wine to maximise commercial potential.  You will also prepare and implement designated new business plans to potential customers with a typical spend of between £100k and £4m p.a.

    Collaboration and good leadership skills are key as you will be working with and assisting your team to secure quality wine business which will contribute to the regional budget.  You will take ownership of the development and implementation of the wine agenda for your team.

    In this varied and interesting role you will be working towards agreed profit targets for the account base alongside hosting wine events, tastings and supper clubs as well as coordinating supplier engagement with customers, trips and training.

    About you

    You will have a proven track record of new business development and sales, ideally gained within the wines/spirits industry or in FMCG sales.

    An in-depth knowledge of On-Trade and/or the wholesale market is essential you will also ideally have  extensive experience of generating new business and customer negotiation skills.

    You will have a history of successfully meeting sales targets and objectives, you will also have a full UK driving licence – 6 points maximum.

    An advanced WSET qualification (Level 3) is highly advantageous.  You will also be a strong communicator with great presentation skills.

    You will be a strong networker and have excellent stakeholder management, and relationship building skills with a passion and drive for sales and all things wine.
