  • Job Title - Depot Manager (Newbridge Depot) 11 Month Secondment

    Location - Newbridge

    Travel Requirements (if applicable) - Some travel required on an ad hoc basis

    Role Summary

    This interim 11 month role takes on the full gambit of the DM role, with full on site support from the Head of Operations as required.

    Lead and manage the entire warehouse operation ensuring at all times that the Customer Service delivered to end customer is best in class and that the cost is managed within budgetary requirements as agreed with the Head of Operations.  Using best practice and innovation where possible, work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to  improve the depot operation to meet volume and customer demands.

    Ensure the warehouse operation is maintained as a safe working environment, meeting all external and internal policies and legal requirements, including full compliance as a minimum with Health and Safety legislative requirements.

    Key Accountabilities

    Customer Service

    • Delivery of OTIF
    • Meeting expectations from external customer service/market surveys
    • Ensuring layout and ways of working at depot can deliver market requirements ongoing on customer service

    Establishment

    • Full site security, entry, exit procedure compliance
    • Proactive site hygiene
    • Proactive site maintenance

    People

    • Full site(s) leadership
    • Safety
    • Training and development
    • Managing resource appropriately, forward planning and forecasting to ensure resource meets volume demand
    • Succession

    Cost

    • Operate site within budget expectation, as agreed with the Depot Network Manager
    • Develop and maintain program of proactive maintenance (driven by both legislative and good practice priorities)
    • Implement changes to ways of working (utilising innovation and best practice) to develop exceptional service and ensure best cost.

    • Strong analytical skills in order to understand how the whole supply chain operates and opportunities to continually drive improvements 
    • People leadership and development skills including ability to lead teams through business and cultural change
    • Communication and influencing skills at all levels and the ability to develop strong networks both internally and externally
    • Ability to prioritise and multi task on a day to day basis
    • Ambition and desire to develop
