    The Role

Know the drinks industry well? Love getting out and about, meeting clients? If so, you could soon be meeting some of ours as an Account Manager, covering Lancashire.

This is your chance to get to grips with our brilliant client base. With your sector knowledge and people skills, you will see customers every day and build terrific relationships. Wine, beer, spirits, soft drinks– whatever the category, you will boost sales and turnover, so each account achieves its potential. What is more, you will have the chance to take Matthew Clark further by driving exciting new business. Success depends on putting trade strategies into action and keeping up with market info. If you are passionate about our industry, you’ll already be in the know.

Main responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:

    • Build strong partnerships & trust with key suppliers, ensuring that we maximise ‘best in industry” support.
    • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers and prospects.
    • Maintain & review an up-to-date prospect database showing revenue and profit opportunity, expected date of trading and progress.
    • Understand the key financials metrics.
    • Manage budget to ensure maximum profit return within your region. To do this, you’ll drive volume & distribution whilst working to retention targets
    • Effective implementation and monitoring of contracts to deliver commercial benefit to Matthew Clark.
    • Adhering to KPIs and achieving sales and growth targets and objectives

    About you

This is an exciting time to join the business and we are looking to build our team with individuals who are excited and motivated to be on this journey with us. Ideally, you'll have experience within the On-Trade industry, but if not, we feel that transferrable skills from a FMCG background would be more than enough.

You will be the face of the business to our customers, so it goes without saying that written and oral communication skills are paramount for success. Whilst we get together as a team to share best practice, update on new trends, promotions and of course celebrating the wins you will achieve, this role will involve managing your own time to ensure you hit targets and achieve your goals so a proven track record of achieving and exceeding these would be great. If you have completed any WSET qualifications, this would be advantageous.

As this role is a territory-based role, a full driver’s licence is a pre-requisite of the position.
