  • About the role

    We are looking for a Key Account Manager to join the team! The Key Account Manager will be involved in account management for a defined group of Key Accounts at both Head Office and outlet level within the Scottish geography. You will be responsible for managing and developing key relationships and growing our business with these customers.

    Main duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Developing account base, managing complex commercial relationships within a defined portfolio of multiple retailers, regional brewing customers and hospitality groups.
    • Promoting and focusing on our own, equity, agency, and distribution products to improve distribution, rate of sale and profit through professional sales techniques and the establishment of long-term customer relationships.
    • Driving volume and distribution while achieving retention targets, particularly for C&C Group ‘core’ brands.
    • Developing and implementing account plans with each Key Account customer to support our own business strategy while considering the broader commercial context in which the customer operates in to ensure the best approach is taken for each customer.
    • Managing the broader commercial relationship with customers including loan finance, credit terms, technical service asset management, wholesale policy, grey market policy and regional brewer trading policy.
    • Growing the availability and visibility of our own, equity & distribution portfolio in indirect supplied outlets across their sales region through the development and implementation of joint business plans, linking with BDMs on opportunities as required.

    About you

    • Previous account management experience within a brand led wholesale environment
    • In depth knowledge of the Scottish On-Trade and wholesale market, highly desirable
    • Ability to build and develop strong working relationships at all levels both internally and externally
    • Knowledge of the Scottish Loan Book and how to utilise this to grow commercial opportunities
    • Highly developed negotiation skills through practical experience
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Results and solution focussed
    • Highly commercial with strong ability to analyse numerical and analytical data
    • Ability to maximise productivity through prioritisation, time management and organisation
    • Ability to quickly adapt to a varied and changing market environment
    • Ability to utilise category and consumer insight where appropriate
    • Full driving licence
    • WSET or training towards desirable
