About the role
As Transport Shift Manager you'll ensure the smooth management of the transport operation, with responsibility for the delivery of cost, service, compliance, people KPIs – in line with company and legal standards and requirements.
You'll have responsibility for the transport team and fleet on a day-to-day basis, supporting the management team as required.
What you’ll be doing
You'll manage the usage of labour within the transport team, adjusting plans to ensure tasks are covered effectively at optimal cost.
You'll have responsibility for the delivery of daily, weekly, and monthly plans to ensure customer and company needs are met and ensure the depot fleet is operationally ready and compliant to the required standard to ensure continuity of supply to our customers.
You'll ensure compliance with all quality and legal Health and Safety documentation and standards, including fleet compliance, with emphasis on defect reports, servicing, MOTs etc.
You'll proactively manage team members’ performance, identifying employee training requirements including mandatory regulatory training and ensure people management issues are identified and effectively dealt with.

You'll have experience in a management role within a fast moving and changing work environment such as FMCG or logistics and experience in fleet management.
You'll have Driver CPC and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook etc).
