About the role
The Inventory Accountant has responsibility for understanding, managing and reconciling key balance sheet accounts including inventory, GRNI. You'll identify and implement areas for improvement in the balance sheet process, be the business partner between depot stock managers, purchasing and financial control – providing information and insight on balance sheet to these parties.
You'll also be responsible for stock count planning (half year and full year) and be the key audit point of contact for key balance sheet accounts, including during audit.
What you'll be doing
You'll have ownership of key balance sheet accounts – understanding flows of data, systems, general ledger postings – including identification of risks, and development of processes to mitigate risks.
You'll be responsible for monthly review of key balance sheet accounts and variance investigation and resolution and monthly inventory valuation and reconciliation to the general ledger ensuring that any differences are investigated and resolved accurately, assisting with monthly reporting and month end stock reconciliation.

About you
You'll be an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant, or qualified by experience with extensive experience of cost accounting within the manufacturing industry. Previous industry or FMCG experience in inventory accounting and JD Edwards would be desirable.
