    About the role

    Tennent’s are looking for a Credit Controller to work with our customers in the off-trade sector to make sure their accounts are up to date and deal with any queries that arise. You will ensure company overdue debt levels are within targeted parameters and will minimise financial risk.

    Please note this position is an 18 month fixed term contract.

    What you’ll be doing

    • Take ownership of cash collection, ensuring payments are received within agreed terms to maximise cash flow
    • Proactively manage overdue accounts, applying credit controls (monitor/stop) where appropriate
    • Build strong relationships with customers to resolve queries and secure timely payments
    • Review and release held orders in line with credit policies, authority levels, and operational deadlines
    • Maintain accurate customer records, account logs, and a reconciled Accounts Receivable ledger
    • Collaborate with Sales and internal teams to quickly resolve account issues and reduce aged debt
    • Manage daily communications, including shared inboxes, remittances, statements, and cash allocation
    • Monitor credit risk, manage payment plans, support reporting, and handle debit/credit notes and claims

    About you

    • Excellent teamwork, organisation, and communication skills
    • Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail
    • The ability to listen to customers and negotiate winning solutions
    • Ability to work to deadlines and manage own time effectively
    • Ability to follow and adhere to established processes and procedures
    • Proven track record of making successful credit decisions
    • Experienced in Excel to VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables
