    About the role

    The job holder will ensure the smooth management of the warehouse operation, with responsibility for the delivery of cost, service, compliance, people KPIs – in line with company and legal standards and requirements.

    Responsibility for the warehouse night shift with a support and deputy role for Warehouse Logistics Manager as required.

    Key Duties

    • Manage labour resources effectively to meet operational demand
    • Ensure inbound goods are received accurately and to quality standards
    • Work closely with stock teams to investigate variances and implement corrective action
    • Deliver productivity and quality targets within agreed cost parameters
    • Deliver daily, weekly and monthly operational plans
    • Communicate proactively with internal teams, suppliers and stakeholders
    • Ensure the warehouse is fully operational, compliant and ready for shift handovers
    • Support monthly reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
    • Review warehouse layout and ways of working to optimise efficiency
    • Ensure full compliance with company, customer and legal standards
    • Complete warehouse and H&S audits through to corrective action sign‑off
    • Maintain high housekeeping standards and proactively manage workplace risks
    • Line manage, coach and develop team members
    • Manage performance, conduct investigations and address people issues effectively
    • Identify and support training needs, including mandatory compliance training
    • Lead accident and incident investigations and communicate learnings
    • Lead in line with company values and management principles
    • Create a positive, safe and productive working environment
    • Take ownership of challenges and implement practical solutions
    • Drive change, innovation and continuous improvement across the operation

    About you

    • Proven management experience within FMCG, logistics or a similar operational environment
    • Strong track record of leading, developing and motivating teams
    • Strong people management skills (performance, engagement, ER issues)
    • KPI-driven with the ability to manage targets and solve problems
    • Highly organised, detail-focused and able to work under pressure
    • Passionate about quality, service and Health & Safety
    • Confident communicator at all levels
    • Flexible to working patterns as required by the operation
    • Knowledge of warehouse systems, cost control and Health & Safety
    • IOSH Managing Safely – desirable
    • Reach and Counterbalance MHE licence – desirable
    • Proficient in MS Office – essential
