    Overview

    The Brewing Graduate role is designed to develop the technical, operational, and leadership capability required for a career in brewing. The role supports day‑to‑day brewing, fermentation, filtration, and quality operations while undertaking structured training across all key processes. The graduate will contribute to producing beer safely, consistently, and efficiently, while gaining a deep understanding of brewing science and large‑scale production.

    About the Role

    • Support the execution of brewhouse, cellar, fermentation and filtration activities in line with production plans.
    • Monitor and control brewing processes (e.g., mashing, filtration, boiling, cooling, transfers).
    • Complete accurate production, quality, and process control documentation.
    • Analyse data from routine quality checks (gravity, pH, CO₂, dissolved oxygen, sensory, microbiology support).
    • Ensure all products meet company quality, food safety, and hygiene standards.
    • Comply with environmental, health & safety, and HACCP requirements at all times.
    • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, yield, energy use, or quality.
    • Support root cause analysis for process deviations or quality issues.
    • Participate in continuous improvement projects (e.g., Lean, 5S).
    • Undertake structured training in brewing science, process technology, utilities, and quality systems.
    • Build understanding of raw materials (malt, hops, yeast, water) and their impact on beer quality.
    • Support trials, recipe changes, or brewery innovation projects.
    • Work closely with packaging, engineering, supply chain, planning, and quality teams.
    • Communicate effectively during shift handover, daily meetings, and project reviews.

    About you

    • Degree in Brewing, Brewing Science, Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, or related discipline.
    • Knowledge of brewing fundamentals (e.g., fermentation, beer chemistry, yeast management).
    • Experience from placements, internships, or brewery/production roles is advantageous but not essential.
    • Understanding of brewing, fermentation, and quality testing processes.
    • Basic laboratory competency and ability to follow SOPs.
    • Numerical and analytical capability to interpret process trends.
    • Strong problem-solving mindset.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
    • Team‑oriented with strong communication skills.
    • Driven to learn and develop professionally.
