    About the role

    The role of the Engineering Stores Coordinator is to manage and maintain the engineering stores to support maintenance and production operations, ensuring the availability of critical spares and consumables while optimising inventory levels and cost efficiency at all times.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee daily operations of the engineering stores, ensuring accurate stock control and inventory management.
    • Support engineering teams with timely availability of parts for planned and reactive maintenance.
    • Ensuring optimum stock is held at all times, minimum wastage and optimum use of stores space.
    • Raise material requisitions and call off materials to meet the production plans.
    • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient stores environment.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits and manage obsolete or surplus stock.
    • Collaborate with management forecast and prepare for maintenance tasks and projects.
    • Liaise and manage relationships with suppliers for sourcing components and managing deliveries.
    • Record and check all incoming and outgoing stock material to ensure quantities are correct and quality standards are maintained.
    • Process invoices and maintain accurate documentation of goods received.
    • Implement and maintain ERP/MRP systems for stock control.
    • Monitor and report on stores-related KPIs.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in stores operations.

    Reporting, Documentation & Data Management

    • Maintain accurate records of stock movements, deliveries, and usage.
    • Generate regular reports on inventory levels, stock value, and usage trends.
    • Ensure data integrity within ERP/MRP systems.
    • Conduct internal audits to improve and prepare for regular audits
    • Support audits and compliance reviews with timely and accurate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Inventory Accuracy – % match between physical and system stock.
    • Stock Availability – % of critical spares available when needed.
    • Stock Turnover Rate – Frequency of inventory usage and replenishment.
    • Obsolete Stock Value – Value of unused or expired items.
    • Order Fulfillment Time – Time taken to source and deliver requested parts.
    • Compliance Rate – Adherence to safety and documentation standards.
    • Cost Savings Initiatives – Contributions to reducing procurement or storage costs.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Encouraging CI by actively seeking feedback and supporting initiatives designed to enhance data quality and governance.
    • Analyse root causes of any data integrity failures.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process optimization.
    • Continuous Improvement Activities – Number and impact of initiatives to improve stores efficiency, reduce waste, or enhance processes.

     

    About you

    • Leaving Certificate or equivalent minimum.
    • Technical qualification in mechanical/electrical engineering, logistics, or supply chain preferred.
    • Certification in inventory/materials management is an advantage.
    • 2–5 years in engineering stores or maintenance support, ideally in manufacturing/FMCG.
    • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and CMMS platforms.
    • Familiarity with engineering components and consumables.
    • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping.
    • Effective communication and teamwork.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Forklift/manual handling certification may be required.
